Google Keep: An Update

Google Keep is like the ultimate notepad, the only one you will ever need. Check out what Keep can do for you. This post is an update to one we wrote this summer, be sure to check that one out as well.

An Overview

Super quick overview of Keep.

Getting Started with Keep
Download the Android or iOS app.
     Install the Chrome extension.

App Walkthrough
Open Keep on your mobile device.

1. Click the hamburger (three lines) to access all the various settings.
2. Search for notes using the magnifying glass and click the two rectangles to show notes in list view.
3. Pinned notes. These will always appear at the top of the app.

To start a new note just look to the bottom of the screen.
Click Take a note... or on the icons to the right to get started.

1. Make sure you title your note.
2. To access additional options, click the plus in the lower left.
3. The options that appear are similar to what you saw when first starting a new note.

In the lower right corner click on the three dots for additional options.
Collaborator - similar to Google Docs. Add someone to help create the note.
Label - a way to organize all your notes.
Color Dots - I like to use this to visually categorize my notes.

1. Click the finger with the ribbon tied around it. This will allow you to create two types of reminders.
2. You could set a date and time or pick a place. I picked the high school campus as my reminder spot. This means when I hit the campus an alert will appear on my phone .

My finished note.
I color coded it.
I picked a great title.
I selected checkboxes so I can tick off the tasks I complete.
At the very bottom you can see my reminder pin.

This appeared on my screen as I pulled onto campus.

Click the Windows key on your keyboard or click the icon in the lower left of your screen. 2. Just start typing AirServer. 3. Click AirServer. Don't see it? Contact technology or your building tech person. Step 2 Connect your teacher iPad to your laptop. 1. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen. Start by swiping in the bezel, the black plastic part surrounding the screen. 2. Click AirPlay Mirroring. 3. Click your name. Step 3 Open the camera app and instant portable ELMO! Anything you see in the camera's len will be broadcast to the big screen. I just used this method to take a picture of my notebook as a demonstration of how co

Who is emailing me? The Blue Man Group??? (Add an image to your Google account.)

WHY It is always nice to put a face with a name. Sometimes we need a tiny little reminder of what someone looks like because we don't see them very often. Follow these steps to add/change the image associated with your Google account. HOW Open your email. Click your image. It might just be a blue circle if you have not added something already. Click Change . Find an image you like. Your amazing new image will appear. From now on everyone can put a name to a face!
