This is an exciting week!  It is Installation Week 1 of the interactive equipment. This is such a huge task, and we are so excited about the beginning of this journey.  A special thanks to all of those who have worked so diligently to make this dream a reality!

New Staff Orientation

The new Lindbergh staff members have been participating in a variety of workshops as a part of their induction into the Lindbergh family. The LINC trainers have been busy assisting with this training. We have been helping the new staff become familiar with: New laptops Website creation using SchoolCenter Moodle SIS E-mail Phone system LINC and ELITE assessments These fine Lindbergh staff members have learned a great deal over the past 3 days. We are excited to welcome them to this great community!

Training Session Highlights

Today, we explored a variety of interactive tools in the administrator session. Using Windows Journal is a great way to record information on your laptop using the tablet feature. The inking feature in Word is great for writing on a document. Click on the "Review" tab and then "Start Inking" to be able to write on your document. Promethean Planet This is a great website with thousands of flipcharts already created for downloading and editing. Google Earth From Google's Site: Google Earth lets you fly anywhere on Earth to view satellite imagery, maps, terrain, 3D buildings, from galaxies in outer space to the canyons of the ocean. You can explore rich geographical content, save your toured places, and share with others.

Lenovo X201 Tablet Training

The three of us had a wonderful time training the middle and high school staff on their replacement laptops. We reviewed a great deal of information during this two hour training session. There are so many new parts to explain on these laptops. Just in case you forget any of the fascinating topics we covered or you need additional resources, feel free to head to our website for review. Thank you to everyone who attended or will be attending this session. We hope you enjoy your laptops and feel free to let us know if you have any questions.

Moodle

Did you say noodle? No, we are talking about Moodle. Today, Bryan shared a session with about 15 staff members on how Moodle can be used to deliver content to your students and assess learning using assignments or quizzes. What is Moodle? Check out this website to find additional ways to utilize Moodle. Check out this video to learn more about Moodle. Content covered in today's class: How to add a resource-anything you would give the students How to add an activity-anything the students would give to you How to use file management How to use "Hot Potatoes" for quizzes

Wallwisher

Click here for this great online tool! This site was shared this week at a LINC administrator workshop. Wallwisher is a virtual interactive bulletin board! You could effectively integrate this into your classroom instead of using large sheets of poster paper to: *brainstorm or debate topics *collaborate and add research facts *sort and group wall content into categories *vocabulary development- post a bunch of words and have students define them or write sentences *collaborate with another class

Our First Week

We had a wonderful first week as LINC trainers. We worked on getting our new office put together. We are currently sharing the space in Central Office across from Dr. Simpson's office. In addition to getting our space organized, we focused on our upcoming laptop training. The middle and high school teachers will be getting their Lenovo X201 ThinkVantage laptops soon. Many have signed up for the 2 hour training course over the summer. Please click here to visit our LINC website. As we create additional training materials, we will house them here. These laptops are fabulous! There are so many amazing features and new tools. You are going to love the stylus-you can now take notes using Windows Journal. In addition, there is a built in video and image camera. So much fun! It is hard to believe school will be starting in less than one month. The LINC trainers have a ton to do between now and start day. We are going to spend a great deal of time planning and coordinating EL
