Send later - now a part of Gmail

Did you see this new feature appear in Gmail this week? While some of us use Boomerang to send emails at a later date and time, this feature is now part of regular Gmail. To schedule an email just click the downward facing arrow on the blue send button. Then click Schedule send . Pick from one of the preselected times or click the bottom to find another time that might work better.

There are two required things every district Gmail user must have up to date, signature and profile picture. These are super easy to do if you follow the directions on this post . Tip 1: Tabs Configuring your inbox will help you keep your primary tab clean and focused. The idea is to have Gmail automatically sort your inbox under certain categories. The tabs are premade by Google, you can't rename them. Configure your inbox. 1. Click the gear icon in the upper right corner. 2. Click Configure inbox . Enable the tabs you want to appear. It's like talking to yourself in the future.

Frantic. That is how many of us work. There are about a billion things that come up every day and I'm sure we miss super important things. What if... there was a way to help prevent that? What if you could magically email yourself and have that message pop up at the exact date and time you specify? The future is here, right now. All you need to access it is a tiny little Chrome extension called Boomerang . Installing and Using Add the Boomerang extension . When it is fully installed you will see this icon appear in your Chrome browser. Open a new Gmail message. Compose the message. Click the red Send Later button. There are a number of options to choose from. For this example, I clicked on the little calendar at the bottom. I like this as it gives me very precise delivery options. Need to share a contact list with a long-term sub or another teacher? Check out the process for sharing. Teacher Sharing the Contact List Open your email. Click the Mail button in the upper left. Click Contacts . Find the email distribution list you want to share. Click on that list so all the emails appear in the center of your screen. 1. Click More at the top of the screen. 2. Click Export . Make sure you select only the group you want to export. It will default to All contacts and that is not what you want! Click Export at the bottom of the screen. You should see a downloaded file appear in the lower left of your screen. Share this file with the person who needs that contact list. Better spelling predictions in your email.

We all multitask. Sometimes we even take ourselves up a notch to a supertasker. We type emails as we talk and take notes which sometimes leads to errors. Try this simple tip to add an additional dictionary to Gmail. 1. Compose a new email. 2. Right click in the body of the email. 3. Click Spellcheck . Make sure both options are checked.
