Tabs - I usually have a billion open

I usually start collecting tabs in the morning and by the end of the day I have about a billion open. I love tabs and this tiny feature adds a lot of value. Did you know you can right click on your tabs and it will reveal a hidden menu? How I Use This Menu I love the reload option. Sometimes a tab will go to sleep and a quick right click will wake it right back up. What about that tab that keeps playing an ad or music? Just mute it! There are also two useful close tabs options.

Chrome: Check this out!

A tiny number of tabs... but soon it becomes out of control!           Here are two Chrome extensions I find super useful. By the end of the day I usually have 30-50 tabs open which can cause issues. I would highly recommend using them even if you don't collect tabs like I do. The Great Suspender      Too many tabs can cause a drain on your system resources. This extension will suspend, put to sleep, any tab that is left idle over time. To awaken the tab just click in the middle of the page. You can add any page to the whitelist so it never gets suspended. I usually just add my calendar and email. I would assume teachers would also add SIS. OneTab      I just added this one recently. When I find myself with too many tabs I can just click one button and all the tabs will be put on one page in a simple list. I think this is a great way to save my thinking after a long period of researching a ...

by kjhosein How do you decide which browser to use when you go online? Here are a few suggestions that might help you decide what to use.  Post a comment about the browser you find most beneficial. SIS You must use Internet Explorer!  This is the one browser SIS says will work all the time.  There is one tiny little option you need to select to enable compatibility mode which will help you to enter your grades like a pro! You know your browser is in compatibility mode when the icon (looks like ripped paper) is glowing blue.  It should remain in this mode until you disable it.  You can disable it by clicking on the icon and the icon will be grayed out. Everything Else Use Chrome for the rest of your browsing on the web. Google - To The Rescue!

I was working with Sammi, my 8 year old, on a piece of writing she was doing for homework.  There were three words she was struggling to spell.  My first instinct was to grab the dictionary but I couldn't find one.  We were going to use Siri on the iPad but we decided to try something else.  I wanted to find a solution she could use on the iPad and on a laptop. laptop Note:  use the chrome browser! We launched chrome on the laptop and clicked the small microphone on google.com .  Make sure your laptop microphone is turned on. Sammi then spoke the word she was struggling with into the computer.  Google took care of the rest. iPad You need to download the google search app for this to work. Open the google search app. Click on the small microphone. Say the word you are wanting to spell. The results will pop up as a regular google search results page. The Big Picture There ar...
