Voxer (part 2 of 2)

We are publishing this slightly out of order, this is post 2 of 2. We are currently writing about the professional development side of Voxer and will publish at a later date. Voxer is one of those tools that can be used for professional development and giving quick feedback to students. This idea comes from our Sappington principals Dr. Parker and Dr. Albers, so thankful for you sharing this idea with us! The big idea of using Voxer is that it is fast, simple and impactful. This post will detail how to use Voxer to record an audio clip and share it with the students you are working with. This could be the tool you have always dreamed of, timely feedback that does not take a ton of time to create. Getting Started Download the Voxer app on your Android or iOS device. Create an account. Open the app. Click the hamberger icon (three lines) in the upper left corner. Click My Notes . To record an audio note, click and hold the little radio button in the...

Hit me up on Voxer!

We posted about Voxer a while ago but I wanted to encourage you to check it out before the school year starts. I used it the other day when I was having another tech issue with Aurasma. I downloaded this app and you will never believe what happened next.

This app is a cross between a texting app and a walkie talkie. You have the option to send a text, add a photo and send a quick voice comment to people in your contacts list. App Screenshot I can click the play button to hear my message to Doug or listen to the audio clips he sent me. If I hold down the orange button I can send him a new audio/voice message. How might I use this in my life or classroom? Check out this post on EdTechReview about using Voxer in your school. Education Week also wrote about Voxer. A wicked cool way to communicate to your children on any wifi enabled device. (I kinda love this app. I used to love walkie talkies as a kid. This gives a similar experience without all the static and 9 volt batteries.) Want to take it to another level? Do you follow the #moedchat on twitter? They created this google doc you can add your voxer contact info to. Sometimes you need to say something that just won't fit into 140 characters and that...
