Is it possible to have too many tabs open?

Do you slowly collect tabs throughout the day? I know on any given day I might open twenty to thirty tabs. That many open tabs starts to slow the machine down and my battery appears to drain much faster.

Here is a simple solution that allows you to open a million tabs and help your laptop run efficiently.

The Great Suspender
The Great Suspender is a Chrome extension that puts your tabs to sleep after a set amount of time. To wake the tab, all you do is click.

Start by visiting The Great Suspender and clicking the big blue button in the right corner.

Click Add extension.

Click settings.

1. Adjust the time. We recommending choosing 30 minutes or 1 hour.
2. Scroll down.

Whitelist - sites that are exempt, they won't be suspended.
1. I copy/pasted the addresses of the three tabs I use most often. If you use Pandora or Spotify in a tab, add that address here.
2. Click Save settings.

This is what you see when a tab is suspended. Click the screen to fully restore the tab.

To access the settings, click the little tab-faced extension in the upper right corner.

Setting Your Gmail Away Message

You will be away from your classroom for a bit and probably won't be checking email on a regular basis. Wouldn't it be nice to have Gmail respond for you alerting whoever is emailing that you out enjoying your summer? Setting up your vacation responder is pretty simple, a few clicks and a save. Start by clicking the gear icon in the upper right corner of Gmail. Scroll way down the page. Look for the vacation responder section. 1. Click to turn the responder on. 2. Add your first and last days away. We would recommend adding something short and to the point for the subject line. 3. Whatever you add here will be the body of the email you are automatically sending out. It would be a good idea to tell them when you are planning on returning and who to call if they need immediate assistance. We also recommend not checking the two buttons at the bottom. 4. Save changes . That is it. Now your inbox will automatically alert people that you are not in your...
