How I use YouTube

We have all used YouTube to search for countless things. This weekend I searched for replacing headlights, weed eaters and Homer Simpson. All of these gave me exactly what I needed, the only time YouTube kinda fails is when I am searching for a how-to of some newish technology. Did you ever notice when you search YouTube it will surface so many old videos? When dealing with tech you need videos in the past few weeks, not things months old.

I stumbled upon this tiny little button and it has radically changed my search results.

I was searching for a few videos about LastPass but check out how old the first results are!

Have you seen the Filter button right under the search bar? I click that and usually pick This month and my results are much more usable.

Note: the filter button won't show up until you search for something.
