Google Docs Greatness

Two Amazing New Tools to Explore in Google Docs Docs Voice Comments This tool allows for teachers or other students to leave comments on a shared document.  This would be a powerful tool to allow for collaboration when students and/or teachers cannot conduct face to face conferences. VideoNot.es This great new tool allows you to open a YouTube video on the left side of the screen and then take notes on the right side.  The best part?  It is integrated with Google Docs so your notes are saved right in your  Google Drive.  In addition, students could collaboratively take notes together.  This would be an excellent tool for the flipped classroom as students are watching the videos at home.   To get started, go to VideoNote.es  and click on the "Create your notes" icon.   This site is so easy to use and directions pop us as you are getting started.

A Little Motivation

Need 2 minutes of inspiration?  Check out this video.  As we are closing out one school year and beginning to prepare for another, just remember these words of wisdom.

fuselearning - this might just be the most amazing thing...

We learned about this yesterday while in a meeting with the Rolla Public Schools .  It is like Socrative but infuselearning enables you to do so much more.  Take a look at the video to see the possibilities.

Google Maps - New Layer!

This is a pretty cool idea.  There is a new layer you can enable in your google maps.  Just think of all the ways you could use this with your class.  I wonder how many will use this on summer break.  Maybe set up a class blog so the students can record what they see and find.

Update: gmail blue

A huge update to gmail!  This is pretty interesting.  Sometimes the red in gmail is simply too much.
