U.S. Government Lesson

As a part of her U.S. Government course, Mrs. Weitzel had students break into groups to research the various political parties. She housed the links, along with thought provoking question prompts, in Moodle for each party, and students used their personal devices along with the computer lab for their research.

Then, they were asked to teach their classmates about the party they were responsible for researching by using a website called Wordle. Here are the instructions for this part of the assignment:

Go to this website and CREATE a Wordle with your group using the words and information that you gathered from your question. Make it thorough, detailed, and be able to discuss why you chose the words you chose. YOU are educating the class about this political party using this technique. Be prepared. There will be an assessment on your knowledge of all of these parties, so pay close attention. Wordle or Tagxedo

As a culminating event, the students used the assignment feature in Moodle to respond to the following open ended questions.

Explain 3 things that you learned about the different political parties.

Would you ever support one of these parties? Why or why not? Explain your answer.

Setting Your Gmail Away Message

You will be away from your classroom for a bit and probably won't be checking email on a regular basis. Wouldn't it be nice to have Gmail respond for you alerting whoever is emailing that you out enjoying your summer? Setting up your vacation responder is pretty simple, a few clicks and a save. Start by clicking the gear icon in the upper right corner of Gmail. Scroll way down the page. Look for the vacation responder section. 1. Click to turn the responder on. 2. Save changes . That is it. Now your inbox will automatically alert people that you are not in your...
